About YorkyPuds

YorkyPuds is an ’80s child living in God’s own city of Leeds.

Having started a poker blog on Blogger way back at the start of the noughties, YorkyPuds has been writing for a living since Apr. 2008, penning articles for major gaming companies such as Betfair, Betfred, Ladbrokes, partypoker, Poker Heaven, Poker Channel Europe, PokerNews, and PokerStars.

He got his start in the world of writing after a Betfair representative found his blog and asked if he would be interested in moving his blog onto Betfair’s platform. Although Betfair were happy with the writing style, some of the subject matter had to be changed as it was deemed inappropriate, as was some of the language used. The Betfair role then progressed from updating a blog on his poker progress, or lack of it, to writing news articles and poker strategy.

Several freelance roles followed before YorkyPuds underwent a successful trial as a live poker tournament reporter for PokerNews. After travelling to cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Prague, Las Vegas and many more following and reporting on the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Poker Tour (WPT) and the World Series of Poker (WSOP), YorkyPuds became the editor of PokerNews’ UK & Ireland facing site in Sep. 2011.

Fast forward to today and YorkyPuds is found writing about poker most days, plus creating sports betting articles for affiliate sites.

An avid video gamer who refuses to grow up, a season ticket holder at Leeds United and also a dad, YorkyPuds leads a busy lifestyle, loves a rant and a moan about everything.

This little corner of the internet is a place for him to vent, write reviews, give opinions and have a bit of fun away from the daily grind that is work.

Follow him on Twitter if that is your kind of thing.
